Communal Area Cleaning in the Barbican

Many are warehouse conversions from the late-1990s and 2000s with original cast-iron columns, exposed brick walls, polished concrete floors and oversized industrial windows — character that residents pay a premium for, and that needs the right cleaning approach to preserve.

Polished concrete dulls quickly under wrong-pH cleaner and never fully recovers. Exposed brick collects dust at every joint. Cast-iron columns rust under standing water. Our Shoreditch communal team uses pH-neutral, low-residue products on concrete, soft-brush detailing on brick, and dry-cloth-only on cast-iron — which is the only way these features stay looking the way the architect designed.

Rotations are weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on footfall and budget. High-traffic ground floors near Shoreditch High Street, Brick Lane or Old Street often need more frequent lobby cleans on market weekends; quieter upper floors may only need fortnightly stair detailing. We agree the schedule in writing and log every visit with timestamped photos.
